Webinar Report on "Assembled Advanced Organic Materials"

I have organized a chemistry webinar entitled “Assembled Advanced Organic Materials” on 3rd June 2020 lecture delivered by Dr. S. Nagarajan, Assistant Professor, National Institute of Technology, Warangal conducted by Department of Chemistry, National College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli. He is one of the leading young scientists in India.

His lecture was excellent and more informative in the area of organic chemistry, material chemistry and current scenario of COVID19. Self-assembly is ubiquitous in nature and the materials derived from self-assembly has now emerged as a fascinating and promising approach in chemical synthesis, nanotechnology, polymer science, materials and engineering [1]. In particular, self-assembled materials by the spontaneous organization of small molecules into 3-D structures has attained great interest in the last two decades because of their stable arrangements through a number of non-covalent interactions and smart tuneable properties, which endow them with wide range of applications including tissue engineering, molecular electronics, catalysis, controlled release of drugs, genes, etc [2].

We have received 904 registrations from various institutions across the country and 440 participants were participating through google meet and YouTube live online platform.

I thanks to our college secretary, principal, HOD Chemistry, speaker Dr. S. Nagarajan, faculty members, students and participants for their appreciation for making our event a grant success.
